H.E.Mr. Babar Amin attended Pak -Aus Engineers Association Technical Seminar in Sydney

Pak-Aus Engineers Association (PAE) organized a Technical Seminar on 29 May 2021 to share and enhance the knowledge of its members and community representative. The Event Theme was “Engineering Challenges in 2021 and Beyond”. The event was held in Auburn Sydney. The event was attended by various industry and community partners, Qualified Engineers, Media Personnel, Community Leaders, and Representatives of various Sponsoring organizations.

The Guests list included His Excellency Mr. Babar Amin, High Commissioner of Pakistan; The Honourable Senator Dr. Mehreen Faruqi, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf, Consul General & Trade Commissioner of Pakistan in Sydney; Mr. Farhat Jafri, President of Pakistan Association of Australia; Dr. Khurram Kayani, President of PPBSA.

Dr. Mansoor Syed Public Relations Officer and Fuad Ahmed General Secretory of PAE hosted the night. The event started with recitation of Holley Quran by Dr. Tahir Qureshi, followed by the National Anthems of Australia and Pakistan.

President of PAE Mr. Insaf khan

Mr. Insaf Khan, the President of PAE, presented the welcome note to participants, where he thanked all the partners for their support to the association. He also addressed with young engineers and industry leaders about challenges faced by current situation of COVID-19 in their jobs, internships, and work experiences.

Vice President of PAE Mr. Khalid Javed

His welcome speech was followed by an overview of the Association presented by the Vice President of PAE, Mr. Khalid Javed. His summary covered PAE's purpose and value proposition to engineers and the wider local and overseas community.

Dr. Mansoor Syed

Dr. Mansoor Syed introduced new PAE Executive Committee members to the audience, covering their qualifications, experiences, and technical competencies. After completing formal introductions, Technical Experts started their presentations on various technical topics. where technical experts from various engineering and IT backgrounds shared their insights with the participants. Wayne Robinson from ARL Laboratories, Saad Khan from Downer EDI, Francisco Inacio from the Engineers Australia, Abdul Razzaq Lakhani MD of SGS from Pakistan, and Shujaat Syed from the Westpac presented their experiences.

The next session of the event covered speeches by the valued guests, which opened with the Consul General of Pakistan Muhammad Ashraf presenting the valuable work that the Consulate General of Pakistan is doing in promoting trade relations between Pakistan and Australia.

Hon. Senator Mehreen Faruqi

The Hon. Senator Mehreen Faruqi took over stage after Muhammad Ashraf and shared her experiences being the only Muslim Woman Senator in the Australian political environment. Her key message to the wider community was to participate in the Australian political climate and become part of public policymaking.

The closing speech was delivered by the High Commissioner of Pakistan, H.E.Mr. Babar Amin, who presented the efforts of the Pakistan Government in aligning the Pakistani Science and Technology Stakeholders with the Pakistani Scientific Diaspora in Australia.

On completion of speeches, the valued guest speakers presented awards to the speakers, various community leaders, media personnel, and the sponsoring organizations such as ARL Laboratories, Eastern Engineering, Diamond 6 Group and Elite Accountants Pty Ltd.
The event closed with a networking opportunity over the dinner.
