A large number of Australian Pakistanis attended Sydney Flag Hoisting Ceremony of Pak National Day

A Flag Hoisting Ceremony was organised by the Consulate General of Pakistan Sydney at a local community centre to celebrate National Day of Pakistan 23rd March 2021. The Ceremony was attended by a large number of members of Pakistan diaspora in Australia. The Consul General Mr. Muhammad Ashraf began the proceedings with hoisting of the National flag. The flag-hoisting was followed by a brief commemorative event. Messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out.

The Consul General Muhammad Ashraf thanked the audience for attending the Ceremony in large numbers despite inclement weather in New South Wales. He said that Pakistan Day was commemorated to pay homage to the founding fathers of Pakistan whose services and sacrifices led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. It was a day for reaffirmation of our resolve to make Pakistan an economically stronger and prosperous country.

The Consul General Muhammad Ashraf also stressed that Pakistan would continue to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right of self-determination.

The Ceremony concluded with the prayers for the prosperity and security of Pakistan. The audience also enjoyed Pakistani traditional breakfast. The Ceremony was held in a COVID safe environment keeping in view the restrictions of the local government.
