On Friday, 14th August 2020, Pakistan Associations of Australia arranged Pakistan Independence Day Celebration at “Lahori Dera” 495 Hume Highway Yagoona Sydney. This event strictly follows COVID-19 Secure guidelines and limited guests attended. The Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney Mr. Muhammad Ashraf, Deputy CG Mr. Sheryar Khan and Pakistan’ Director to World Bank Saeed Ahmad Khan was Chief Guest.

Mr. Farhat Jaffri explained future plan of the positive Community activities & welfare projects of the Pakistan Association. The Consul General Muhammad Ashraf along with President PAA Abbas Rana cut the cake to mark the occasion. Mr. Ashraf Chohan General Secretary of PAA announced that Association thankful to the Best services of President Abbas Rana and we will host a farewell party in the honour of outgoing President for appreciates his sincere work for Australian Pakistani Community.

The President Pakistan Association Abbas Rana welcomes all and briefly explains the community services & achievement for last year under his tenure of President of PAA. He said that we have very limited resources but we always take care of deserving and needy individuals and families.
Mr. Abbas Rana said that that aims and objectives of the Pak Association are to provide welfare services to the Pakistani community in Slough. We promote racial harmony, provide assistance and guidance to our members, and hold social events and celebrate National days; we are not getting any Government grant or financial assistance.
Mr Abbas Rana said that PAA is a non-profit, non-political organisation started 50 years before as an independent body to help resolve community issues of the Pakistan origin residing in Australia. President PAA Abbas Rana said that in recent years number of Pak students increased to Australia and thousands new migrants arriving in Australia, we are providing support and guidance to the migrants making Australia their new home.
Pakistan Association of Australia also promoting soft image of Pakistan in Australia and I am proud in achieving 5 years sincere service to the Australian Pakistani Community. We focus on providing the much needed support in Harm Prevention Services including mediation, legal and other required services, Domestic Violence Support, Job Seeker Support, digital Literacy for seniors, Digital Health Awareness, Emergency and other forms of support.
President PAA Abbas Rana said that within few months, election of PAA will be held and members will be select new team. In my capacity, I worked hard for community and tried to solve issues/demands. I hope that public and Pakistani diplomats will provide full support to the new elected team of Pak Association. He announced that Pak Association will be celebrates Golden Jubilee of Association after ending this difficult time of Coronavirus.
