Muhammad Ashraf has been appointed and posted at Sydney as New Trade Commissioner and Consul General of Pakistan

On 2 October 2019, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has
approved the appointment of 47 trade officers for posting in Pakistan’s
missions abroad who will be tasked with promoting exports and foreign direct
investment in approximately 40 countries. For the first time, the government
has also appointed two overseas Pakistanis for the posts of trade officers as
part of the new policy. Under the new policy, government allocated 20 per cent
quota for overseas Pakistanis for posting as trade officers in Pakistan
missions abroad.
Present PTI Govt introduced some measures to ensure
merit and as per approved posting of BPS-20 officer,
Muhammad Ashraf has been appointed and posted at Sydney as Trade Commissioner
and Consul General of Pakistan. He will be assumed Charge within 2
months. Mr. Ashraf is currently serving in the Ministry of Commerce Islamabad
as DG & Joint Secretary.
