Youm-e-Takbir is celebrated as a National day in Pakistan on May 28 in commemoration of Chagai-I and Chagai-II. The tests made Pakistan the seventh nation to possess nuclear weapons, and the first in the Muslim world.
Late Syed
Ghazanfar Abbas a Civil Engineer by profession a scion of a leading Multan
Agriculturist family proposed the name “Youm e Takbeer,”of the historic Day
when Pakistan detonated the nuclear device.
In recognition of Ghazanfar
Abbas sahib the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif conferred
a certificate Award of recognition to late Syed Ghazanfar Abbas. late Syed
Ghazanfar Abbas is Father of Former High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Ibne
Abbas, Syed Ibne Hassan and Former IG Railway Police Syed Ibne
Hussain.
