Parachinar Community Sydney hosted Welcome event in Sydney for Sajid Hussain Turi MNA

Mr Sajid Hussain Turi was born on 12 February 1977. He is well known Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018. Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly from 2008 to May 2018.

He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as an independent candidate from Constituency NA-37 (Tribal Area-II) in Pakistani general election, 2008. He received 26,287 votes and defeated an independent candidate Syed Riaz Hussain.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly as an independent candidate Constituency NA-37 (Tribal Area-II) in Pakistani general election, 2013. He received 29,623 votes and defeated an independent candidate, Sayed Qaisar Hussain.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Constituency NA-46 (Tribal Area-VII) in Pakistani general election, 2018. He received 21,461 votes and defeated Syed Iqbal Mian, a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Mr Sajid Hussain Turi recently came to Australia on 3 weeks private visit. He visited Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. It was his 3rd visit to Australia. He was given a warm welcome everywhere.

On Tuesday 08, January, 2019 Parachinar Community Sydney hosted dinner in the honour of the Member of National Assembly of Pakistan Mr Sajid Hussain Turi. It was held at Cheema Function Hall Granville NSW Australia.

The dinner was very well attended event with HWA members and different community representatives. The total attendance was recorded at over 150 including all guests Australian Parliamentarians and different prominent community leaders.

Shaoquett said that in 2009, first time I met Mr Turi at the residence of Syed Zafar Hussain of Sada-e-Watan later I have a honour to meet him at the dinner hosted by Mr. Iftikhar Rana, President Pakistan Australia Business Council. I thank you for informing me of Mr Sajid Hussain Turi s’ Visit to Australia. I had the pleasure of meeting this well respected Member of Parliament on my previous visits to Pakistan and on his visit to Sydney when my dear friend Azam Muhammed Sahib was the CG of Pakistan in Sydney. Please convey my regards to our friend Mr Turi and convey my best wishes.

I hope he will be well received by the community and wish him a fruitful and enriching visit. I am sorry I am unable to receive him as I am overseas on an urgent family matter at the moment and unfortunately I won’t be back before Mr Turi’s departure. I am sure His Excellency the High Commissioner Babar Amin and other officials will receive him well. I wish him, his supporters and all the good people of Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous 2019.

In his speech, former Consul General of Pakistan Azam Mohammed Welcomes Mr Sajid Hussain Turi and said our Chief Guest is 100% sincere with his community & Pakistan.
In her speech, The Hon. Senator Dr Mehreen Faruqi (Green Party Australian) welcome MNA Sajid Hussain Turi and said I met Mr Turi first time and really impressed from his personality and views about current political situation of Pakistan.

Before tasty dinner, MNA Sajid Turi presented map of Parachanaar Kurram Agency and traditional piece of cloth “Shawl” to Hon. Senator Dr Mehreen Faruqi.

Mr Sajid Turi speaks about the Pakistan current situation and said that Federally Administered Tribal Areas are merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but PTI Government is fails to provide proper facilities or development to public and they are facing challenges & difficulties on every step. Mr Sajid Hussain Turi criticised the PTI government for ignoring its election manifesto in the budget on creation of jobs, construction of houses, and investment in the education sector.

Mr Sajid Hussain Turi said that people had expected decrease in the prices of edible and non-edible items after the PTI’s election to power, especially when ‘economists’ had been made the federal and provincial finance ministries, but they’re disappointed after being further burdened with higher prices.

MNA Sajid Turi said that PTI had made the people’s life miserable by increasing the prices of electricity, gas and edible items. He said that PPP is the only party standing always for the rights of Fata and its people. We are waiting for key Fata reforms and I appeal to Overseas Pakistanis to register their votes as soon as they can so we can pressurise Government for good Regulation & implementation of Fata Reforms.
