Pakistan Australia Business Council INC delegation met with High Commissioner H.E. Babar Amin
The newly appointed High Commissioner for Pakistan to Australia His Excellency Mr. Babar Amin visited Sydney for the first time on the 25th October 2018. The Consul General Mr Abdul Majid Yousfani arranged this meeting in order for the HC to meet with the business community settled in New South Wales.
Firstly on behalf of the Pakistan Australian Business community, we would like to welcome and wish the best to the new High Commissioner for his role. As a member of the community and President of PABC Mr Iftikhar Rana would like to offer our services and support to His Excellency Mr Babar Amin to enhance the relationship between Pakistan and Australia.

the meeting with H.E. Babar Amin.
The Consul General of Pakistan Mr Abdul
Majid Yousfani and Consul Bushra Salam welcomed and received all the guests at
the Pak consulate office Sydney. Then a meeting was arranged with the High
Commissioner, where
Mr Kashif Amjad briefed High Commissioner about the PABC activities over the past few years and goals they want to achieved as an organisation, including the first Business Council to send delegations to promote the soft image of the very hospitable people of Pakistan of senior NSW politicians , many of whom now have visited on repeat occasions as far back as 2010, created first MOU on a Expo visit between PABC and PABF , the sister body in Pakistan at Karachi under the guidance of the Australian High Commission.
PABC was also mentioned as the first body to meet 6 Federal Ministers during a briefing in Canberra , including a 1.5 hour session with the Foreign Minister, Attorney General and Deputy Finance Minister as well as the Trade Minister. PABC also was the first body to establish links with the Australian High Commission in Islamabad and the Australian Pakistani diaspora for many years and have set a protocol for visiting the community here to understand their views and pain points. Now PABC has given direct feedback Visa process has improved from Australia to Pakistan. PABC does not represent any political party and is bi-partisan in its approach several Federal Ministers.
Mr Iftikhar Rana also briefed PABC activities and discussed about bilateral trade between Australia and Pakistan. Mr Iftikhar Rana further informed about the fundraising and said we requested all Australian Pakistani community to contribute to the Dam Fund created by the High Commission of Pakistan Canberra.
The High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Babar Amin praised the Pakistan Australia Business Council works & efforts and said that he would be attending future events in Sydney for promoting Pakistan trade & Investment.
Taking this opportunity, the Pakistan Business community would like to welcome opening of the new Pak Consulate General in Melbourne and appointment of Consul General and other officials. On behalf of our Melbourne Business Community, PABC would like to request the High Commissioner to ask Government to appoint a Trade Consular with background in Commercial sector and Trade services for Melbourne thus enabling Melbourne’s business community to have the opportunity to prosper and succeed.
During the meeting of the delegation of PABC, H.E. Babar Amin commended the positive role the community is playing in strengthening relations between the Australia and Pakistan. He said I am here to make stronger relationship with Australia, Increase Trade & Investment and serve everyone equal.
H.E. Babar Amin gave a comprehensive overview of economic and investment opportunities in Pakistan and explains the policy & future plan of New Government of Pakistan under the leadership of PM Imran Khan.
