Annual Christmas Celebrations held at the Pakistan Consulate Sydney

The Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney Mr. Muhammad Ashraf hosted a Christmas Celebration on Friday, 16th December 2022. The event was attended by Muslim religious leaders; Members of the Parliament; and Members of the Christian Community of Pakistan. The Consul of Pakistan Consulate Saima Jamil was the Master of Ceremony of the evening.

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Mr. Adnan Gill sang a Christmas song while Rev. Boaz Gill led the concluding prayer. The celebration peaked with the cutting of Christmas cake by members of the Muslim and Christian community, followed by dinner.

The Hon. Shaoquett Moselmane

The Hon. Shaoquett Moselmane, MLC said that Christmas is the occasion to show love, compassion and sacrifice for humanity. He said Australia had been a peaceful home of different cultures and traditions. The Honourable Shaoquett Moselmane wished a Merry Christmas to all those celebrating in Australia and across the world.

Rev. Boaz Gill thanked CG of Pakistan, Muhammad Ashraf for hosting an Interfaith dinner celebration at the Consulate. He said that “This Christmas party 2022 at the Pakistan Consulate Sydney sends a message of unity, tolerance, mutual respect and peace.”

Mr. Siddique Paul of Baptist Mission Australia said all divine religions teach peace and all believers are obliged to help the oppressed and challenge the oppressor. He said we are loyal to Pakistan and we always stand on the frontline for defence of our country Pakistan.

The Trade Minister and Consul General, Mr. Ashraf appreciated the heroic role of the Christian community in the creation of Pakistan and commended their services in health, education, judiciary and defence forces of Pakistan as well as in overall progress and development of Pakistan. The Consul General Muhammad Ashraf said “Congratulations to all Christians in the world on Christmas”.
