Unpredictable weather ends Pakistan vs PM's XI match in draw at Canberra

Pakistan Cricket Team is on tour of Australia. On Tuesday, 5th December 2023, The Prime Minister of Australia Honourable Anthony Albanese hosted the Pakistan cricket team at Australian Parliament House in Canberra. The event was attended by both teams, officials and High Commissioner for Pakistan H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri & Dr Sabina Zahid. The match started off excellently, and Pakistani captain Shan Masood was named Player of the Match for his remarkable innings of 201 not out. The final day s play of the four-day game between Pakistan and Prime Minister s XI at Manuka Oval was called off due to bad weather. The match finished as a draw, after no ball was bowled on the last day.
Prime Minister s XI ended the previous day trailing by just runs 24 as Matt Renshaw s unbeaten century (136 not out, 337b, 8x4s, 1x6) took the team to 367-4 in 141 overs.
Earlier in the game, Pakistan had declared their innings at 391-9, with Pakistan captain Shan Masood leading the batting display with an undefeated double century (201 not out, 298b, 14x4s, 1x6).
Right-arm pacer Jordan Buckingham registered a five-wicket haul in the innings as well. The match ended in a draw after rain on day four. Pakistan will play the first Test against Australia starting 14 December in Perth.
The Pakistan cricket team arrive in Perth tonight, Sunday 10 December and are scheduled to commence their first practice session from tomorrow.
