The Prime
Minister of Australia Honourable Malcolm Turnbull has wished Australia's Muslim
community a "blessed and joyful Eid al-Fitr" as the month of Ramadan comes to a
close.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has wished Australia's Muslim
community a blessed and joyful end to Ramadan.
"From my family to yours, Eid
Mubarak," he said in a statement on Sunday evening of 25th June 2017.
The prime minister described Ramadan - the month in which Muslims fast from food
and water between dawn and sunset - as a time of spiritual renewal and
recommitment to the values of gratitude, charity, and compassion.
"Eid
al-Fitr is a special day to join with family and friends to share a festive
meal, exchange gifts and extend the hand of charity," PM Malcolm Turnbull
said.
