EID GREETING MESSAGE OF HON.CHRIS BOWEN MP
MINISTER FOR IMMIGRATION AND CITIZENSHIP
It is with great pleasure that I extend my best wishes to all the readers of
Sada-e-Watan who are celebrating Eid, the completion of the holy month of Ramadan.Following a month of fasting and reflection, Eid is a festive occasion that coincides with the sighting of the new crescent moon.
The festival of Eid ul-Fitr is a significant event for people of Muslim faith, with special prayers and family time.
It provides a valuable opportunity for people to exchange gifts, socialise with family and friends, and reach out to the less fortunate.
It is also a time for the wider community to celebrate the significant contribution of Muslim Australians to our nation, nearly 40 per cent of whom were born in Australia. They have helped to shape our unique national identity and contributed to Australian social and economic life.
On behalf of the Australian Government, I congratulate Sada-e-Watan for providing Pakistani Australians and the wider Australian community with an important public service.
I wish all Muslim Australians a happy Eid. Eid Mubarak.
Chris Bowen MP
Minister for Immigration and Citizenship

MESSAGE BY AZAM MOHAMMED, CONSUL GENERAL ON EID AND 66th INDEPENDENCE DAY OF PAKISTAN
It is my great pleasure to convey sincere heartiest EID Mubarak to my Pakistani brothers and sisters in Australia as well wish a happy 66th Independence day which will both be celebrated in the same month this year. Celebrating EID and our Independence day in Australia is uniquely memorable given the positive multi-culturism in Australia in which the well wishers of many different community and faith joins us in our celebrations like we rejoice in their celebrations. This is reflected in the Eid Milan function that our Community organizes in the NSW Parliament in which many communities of various origin and religion also participate along-with NSW politicians.
I this opportunity to thank all members of the Community who have cooperated so much with the Consulate and with me. I wish all the best for them and their families and through your esteemed online media and assure them of full cooperation in my future posting in Pakistan.
Happy EID Mubarak to Sada-e-Watan which also celebrated its 7th anniversary this year. All the best for future also.

Message from NSW Opposition Leader John Robertson
My greetings and best wishes for Eid-ul-Fitr.
This is an important time for Australians of Muslim faith – when the Ramadan fast is broken and many weeks of solemnity and self-sacrifice give way to celebration.
Eid-ul-Fitr – just like Christmas or Easter in the Christian tradition – is a time when the Muslim community goes back to its roots.
Life in 21st century Australia is so fast-moving and complex.
But it is festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr which keep us anchored.
And focused on what is truly important – friends, neighbors. Family and faith.
Today, I acknowledge the extraordinary contribution made by hundreds of thousands of migrants to Australia from the Middle East and other part of the world.
Long may your community draw strength in your heritage and faith tradition – even as you look to the future and your hopes for your children and grandchildren.
Eid Mubarak to readers of Sada-e-Watan and all Muslim Community living in Australia
John Robertson
NSW Opposition Leader
