PAK-AUS Engineers Association hosted Welcome dinner for New High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri

The Pak-Aus Engineering Association (PAE) organised their second event of the year 2021 on 11 Dec at Lahore Dhera Event Hall, Sydney. The agenda was to meet and greet the New High

H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri

Commissioner of Pakistan, H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri and reward the bright Engineering Professionals for their achievements in their profession and recognise the efforts from the Industry Partners who support the Organisation's vision.

Fuad Ahmed

The General Secretary of the Association Fuad Ahmed was given the responsibility of hosting the night.

Abdullah Qureshi

The event started with the Quran Recitation and the National Anthems. Abdullah Qureshi recited a few verses from the Quran and presented their translation

Mehreen Javed

and Mehreen Javed presented the National Anthems of Australia and Pakistan.

Mr. Insaf Khan

Following the Anthems was a segment by the President of PAE Association Mr. Insaf Khan where he welcomed the valued guests and the attendees. He emphasized on the need for local government to have policies that promote placements of Engineering professionals in the industry. The President Insaf Khan also requested senior Engineers to provide mentoring to the new and young engineers. He also asked the young engineers to be honest, sincere and hard work in the company they are being placed for internship or work experience.
Fuad Ahmed presented an overview of the organisation and introduced its Executive Committee members and their credentials.

Mr. Khalid Javed

The Vice President of the PAE Association Mr. Khalid Javed outlined the objectives and vision of the association. His speech highlighted the value that the overseas engineers bring to Australian Engineering Community.

Mr. Tahir Qureshi

The PAE Executive Committee Member Mr. Tahir Qureshi discussed the progress and achievements of the association since its inception in 2017. The segment covered the timeline events of the association and a video by the young Engineering professionals who got placements in the industry through the association network.

Hon. Paul Lynch, MP

The next session covered the speeches by the valued guests. The Member of Parliament NSW Mr. Paul Lynch discussed about the diversity of the Australian Community.

The Chief Guest, the High Commissioner of Pakistan Mr Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri elaborated on the major initiatives that the Government of Pakistan is doing for the overseas Pakistani Community. Following his speech was an interaction segment where the event participants directed their questions to H.E. Mr Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri and the Counsel General of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Ashraf.

Dr. Mansoor Syed

Dr. Mansoor Syed of the PAE Association hosted the interaction segment.

The last segment of the night was the Awards segment where three categories were recognised i.e., Engineering Services, Industry Awards and Engineering Excellence. Ms. Julia Finn presented the Engineering Services awards to Mr. Khalid Karim, Mr. M Yaseen Khan, Mr. Rahman Khan, and Mr. Zia-ul-Haq. The Hon. Paul Lynch presented the Industry Awards to Axial Construction, PumpServ, Diamond-6 Construction, ARL Laboratory Services, Eastern Engineering, and SimpliSolar. The High Commissioner of Pakistan H.E. Mr Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri presented the Engineering Excellence award to Mr Ashok Kumar, Mr Junaid Alam, and Mr Shameem Qureshi.

The Engineering Awards ceremony concluded with the PAE President Mr Insaf Khan presented the recognition awards to Mr Paul Lynch, Ms Julia Finn, Mr Muhammad Ashraf, and Mr Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri and officially closed the night.

Lastly, Dinner was served which concluded with a networking session between the guests and the attendees.
