H.E Abdul Malik Abdullah hosted a dinner for Female Entrepreneurs from Pakistan

The High Commissioner for Pakistan, His Excellency Abdul Malik Abdullah hosted a dinner for a group of visiting female entrepreneurs from Pakistan in Sydney on 22 November, 2013. The dinner was held at the Spice of Life Function centre, Harris Park Sydney.The group comprising of 18 female entrepreneurs is visiting Australia under Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship Program of the University of Southern Queensland.

The High Commissioner H.E.Abdul Malik Abdullah welcomed the delegation and thanked the government of Australia and the University of Southern Queensland for arranging this program for Pakistani women designed to improve the success of women entrepreneurs and SMEs. He appreciated the role and importance of such types of courses aimed at developing women leadership. He hoped that the participants will gain a lot from the program and will implement the knowledge and experience gathered here leading to significant growth in their respective businesses/fields.

The High Commissioner His Excellency Abdul Malik Abdullah highlighted the role of women in the development of Pakistan. He emphasized women participation in various fields and its importance in realization of the vision of prosperous Pakistan. He mentioned different steps being taken by the government for women empowerment and creating equal opportunities for both the genders in Pakistan.

The participants thanked the High Commissioner His Excellency Abdul Malik Abdullah for hosting dinner for them. They told about utility of the program in building skills and capabilities of female entrepreneurs. They told that they had learned a lot from their interaction with Australian female entrepreneurs. They hoped that this program would contribute towards development of their managerial skills and capacity building. They will apply the best practices seen and learnt here in their respective fields.

Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Aziz Uqaili while welcoming the participants in Sydney, briefed them about the vast opportunities and potential for bilateral trade and cooperation in various fields between Pakistan and Australia.

The dinner was also attended by Hon. Dr Mehreen Faruqi MLC,Mr. Iftikhar Rana, President Pakistan Australia Business Council (PABC), Hafiz Shahid, President Pakistan Association of Australia (PAA), Syed Zafar Hussain Shah, Editor in Chief of Sada e Watan, Mr. Kashif Amjad, Vice President PABC, and Mr. Sadaqat Siddiq, General Secretary PABC. They all exchanged ideas with the guests and offered them full assistance and cooperation.
