On Tuesday 30th July 2024, the High Commissioner of Pakistan H.E. Zahid
Hafeez Chaudhri specially travelled from Canberra to Sydney and visited
Muhammadi Welfare Association centre at Kemps Creek.
The resident Scholar/Imam of MWA Maulana Shoaib Naqvi, President MWA
Athar Zaidi, General Secretary Mr Syed Ali Raza & other community
representatives welcomed the High Commissioner to the Imambargha for talks
about the sad situation in Parachinar.
Maulana Shoaib Naqvi and officials of the MWA expressed their concern
about the killings of innocent people in Parachinar and demanded quick action
against the responsible people.
On the special investigation of the MWA, a delegation of Parachinar
Community met High Commissioner Mr Zahid Hafeez and explained him for the
recent incidents in Parachinar where many people are killed and roads are
blocked even for emergency medical workers of the ambulances.
Haji Rauf Hussain, President Anjuman e Tajiran Parachinar and Member
peace committee who is visiting from Pakistan was the Head of the delegation.
Najmul Hassan, Sajid Hussain, Mujahid Hussain and Wajid Hussain were
members of the delegation of Parachinar.
They said that Tribal clashes had been
ongoing for the past few days in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram
District claiming many lives and leaving more than hundreds of people
injured.
Delegates said that security forces have been
deployed there but they must take quick action to stop clashes and prevent the use
of heavy weapons targeting innocent people.
The Members of the delegation said that ongoing
sectarian violence in Pakistan’s Parachinar region against Shia Muslims is not
acceptable. We express
solidarity with the victims of the latest bloody attacks against members of the
Shia community of Parachinar and have urged stringent action against the perpetrators.
The members of the delegation said that we demand
violence stops and called for a ceasefire. The High Commissioner Mr. Zahid
Hafeez Chaudhri thanked MWA and Parachinar Community delegates for updates and
said he would write to the Government of Pakistan to express the community’s
feelings, demands and expectations.
The Representatives of the Australian Shia
Community handed over 3 different Australian Pakistani Organisations Letters of
demand & protest to the High Commissioner Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri for
action without any more delays.
HC Chaudhri said that the Government of Pakistan deployed
troops to the area to try to restore order and order a ceasefire again which
was brokered. Mr Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that with the help of a local
jirga, Government officials are trying to bring back the normal situation in Parachinar.
At the end, High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri offered
Fatiha for Victims in Parachinar. Maulana Shoaib Naqvi then led the prayers for
the Shaheed's of Parachinar Pakistan.
