Engineers Association (PAE) held its annual function in Himalaya Granville
Sydney
On Saturday, 25th
of November 2023, Pak-Aus Engineers Association (PAE) held its annual function
at Himalaya Function Hall in Granville. The purpose of the event was to
describe PAE, its goals, highlight their achievements in the past year and recognise the services of senior engineers, community organisations and individuals.
The PAE Annual Function
event was attended by many industry experts, CEOs and managing directors of
various engineering and construction companies, Engineers Australia, Sydney
Migrant Engineers Division representatives, Charge s D Affair
of Pakistan High Commission Mrs. Ayesha Saeed, Julia Finn MP, Professor Mr. Rahat
Munir (Macquarie University), engineering professionals, media partners, and
distinguished community partners.
Mr. Syed Abdul Ghani
Azizi, Secretary of PAE was the MC for the event, which commenced with the
recitation and translation of the Holy Quran by Ikramullah (Son of Dr. Shabbir Ahmed
followed by the national anthems of both Pakistan and Australia. The president of PAE, Mr. Insaf Khan gave the
welcome note to get the sequence of events started. He briefly described PAE,
and the impact being made in the engineering community.
Mr. Khalid Javed
touched on the overview and areas of focus, showing how PAE operates and
contributes to the community. Mr. Tahir Qureshi ran through the achievements
and recognitions of PAE, showing numerous job placements across various
engineering industries.
The main event of the
night was a presentation by Siraj Mughal, an executive committee member of PAE,
who explained Artificial Intelligence and its engineering applications. It was
a technical presentation showing major AI developments in engineering, construction,
mining, and harvesting.
PAE s honorable guests Hon.
Julia Finn MP and Mrs. Ayesha Saeed (acting High
Commissioner of Pakistan) delivered speeches to address the audience and
appreciate PAE s efforts in helping migrating engineers.
Next segment of the
event covered PAE s sponsors, who explained about their nature of business in
Engineering sector. PAE thanked its sponsors for their key contributions in
supporting the organization.
Towards the end, PAE
handed out various awards. The first one was a Young Innovator Award handed
to Ms. Dania Syed for her patented invention of Medibot
a robot which can take your medical readings. Further award categories were
Engineering Services Award, for excellence in engineering and 25+ years of
service Community Services Award, for Professor Rahat Munir (Macquarie
University) and Mr. Munir Mohammad of Sydney Forex, and Dr. Shabbir Ahmad, a
renowned scholar with countless accomplishments. Finally, a Lifetime
Achievement Award for Uzma Gillani, a renowned Pakistani actress and Pride of
Pakistan Award holder.
The event concluded
with closing remarks from PAE s president who thanked its sponsors, attendees,
and guests and recognised the media partners
