Jihad Dib has been the principal of Punchbowl Boys’ High for 13 years and with his wife Erin, they are raising their three children. As principal, Jihad Dib opened Punchbowl Boys’ to the community and developed strong relationships with local organisations and government agencies. Jihad Dib understands the importance of harmony in our area, and as a local school principal he has worked tirelessly to promote and improve our community. He continues this work as a board member of the Australia Day Council of NSW, the NSW Police Commissioner’s Advisory Panel and the SBS Community Advisory Committee.
Mr Jihad Dib became the Labor candidate for Lakemba after sitting member Robert Furolo departed from politics. Friends working hard for him and Sada-e-Watan are sure that he will become a Member of Parliament in New South Wales.

On Thursday 29th January 2015, Jihad Dib’s fundraising Dinner was held at Club Punchbowl, Sydney. Former Foreign Affairs Minister and NSW Premier Hon. Bob Carr was Chief Guest and Special speaker for the evening. Former Federal Minister Tony Burke MP was the Master of Ceremonies. The dinner was attended by Linda Burney MP, Tania Mihailuk MP, Shaoquett Moselmane MLC, Steve Kamper, Hafiz Kassim President AFIC, Dr. Jamal Rifi and other dignitaries.

Hon. Bob Carr appreciated the community service and ability of Jihad Dib and outlined his hope that Mr Dib will 'make a difference' in Parliament. Mr Jihad Dib thanked friends, family, colleagues and our amazing community at the fundraising dinner with Bob Carr. Jihad Dib was extremely thankful to everyone who took time out of their schedule to attend the function. It was a really great night, with tasty food and a packed hall of supporters for Jihad Dib's campaign.
