Sydney’s 29th annual Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair was held on Sunday 18 August 2013 at Fairfield Showground. The day went from 10am until 8pm.
An exclusive VIP ceremony was held in the Parklands Function centre from 1pm-3pm which was attended by festival organisers, community leaders, politicians, bureaucrats, media identities, sponsors and other special guests. A keynote speech was delivered at this ceremony by the Member for Fairfield, Hon. Guy Zangari. Other notable performances included a poem by Anne Tatherway, Quran citation and translation by Talib Bismi and a speech by MEFF President Mehar Ahmed. After the proceedings, VIP's were escorted over to the main stage area where the Federal Member for Fowler, Hon. Chris Hayes gave a speech. This was followed by children's performances and then rounded off by an award presentation. Once the formalities were complete, guests went on to enjoy the festival and mingled with family and friends.

MEFF 2013 had plenty of attractions for people of all ages including market stalls, food stalls, cultural performances, showground entertainment and exhilarating rides. Approximately 30,000 people attended the festival which has grown every year since it's inception.
