Brother in law of Rehan Alavi Mr Munir Uddin Alavi has Passed away in Dubai
Former secretary of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and brother in law of Rehan Alavi of SBS Radio, Mr Munir Uddin Alavi has died in Dubai after a prolong dementia disease.Mr Munir was Secretary of Madar-e Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah (Sister of Quid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah) in mid-sixties. He obtained his LLB degree from government college of Lahore. He was a strong advocate and activist of democratic values against dictatorship of then president Field Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan who issued arrest warrant of Mr Munir Alavi during restoration of democracy moment.Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah appointed Mr Alavi as her personal Secretary during her critical political campaign against Army General and president of Pakistan Ayeb Khan. After Fatima Jinnah demise Mr Munir obtained scholarship and completed his bar at law degree from Texas University USA before practicing as advocate and lawyer in Sindh High court.

He was living with his family in Dubai. His wife Tasneem Munir Alavi is a prominent story writer. He left one son and two daughters in grieve. His burial occurred in Dubai on Friday 3rd May attended by his relatives, family friends and well wishers.
