Motion by the Hon. SHAOQUETT MOSELMANE agreed to:
(1) That this House
notes that:
(a) on 14 August 2015, the Pakistan Australia Association
celebrated the sixty-ninth Pakistan Independence Day;
(b) the event was
well attended, with attendees including the host, newly elected Pakistan
Association of Australia President Mr Abbas Rana, the Hon. Shaoquett Moselmane,
MLC, the Hon. John Ajaka, MLC, Mr Jihad Dib, MP, Ms Tanya Mihailuk, MP, the
High Commissioner for Pakistan Her Excellency Naela Chohan, Consul General of
Pakistan Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Vice Consul Bushra Salam, Former Consul General
Azam Mohammed, President of the Pakistan Australia Business Council Iftikhar
Rana, and many other distinguished guests and members of the Australian
Pakistani Community; and
(c) the event also celebrated the wonderful and
proud contributions of Pakistani Australians, who for decades have continued to
enrich our culturally diverse society.
(2) That this House notes the
work of the Pakistan Australia Association and wishes the Pakistani Australian
community a happy Pakistan Independence Day.
