Notice of Motion in NSW Parliament to acknowledge Pakistan Day and members of the Pakistani Community

Tuesday, 12th March 2013

 I give notice that on the next sitting day I will move:

  1.      That this House notes that:

              (a) On Saturday 23^rd March, Pakistani’s all around the world will celebrate the ^73rd anniversary of the proposed resolution of  Pakistan,

              (b) There are almost 50,000 Pakistani people who are living in Australia,

              (c) Many Pakistani Communities across Australia will celebrate this historic milestone, including the Pakistan Association of Australia which will host a function on the 23^rd of March 2013 to commemorate the occasion of Pakistan National Day.

2. That this House notes the valuable and various contributions of Pakistani’s in Australia.

3. That this House congratulate His Excellency Mr. Abdul Malik Abdullah (High Commissioner of Pakistan in Australia) and Mr. Azam Mohammed (Consul General of Pakistan; the Pakistan Association of Australia; Media organisations; Community Leaders and members of the Pakistani community for their achievements in building bridges and fostering relations with the broader Australian community.

4. That this House wish all Pakistani’s living in Australia, a happy and auspicious Pakistan Day.
