Flag Hoisting Ceremony held on Pakistan Day at Pakistan High Commission Canberra
On Saturday, 23rd March 2024, A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra to celebrate Pakistan National Day. The High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri raised the flag with the national anthem of Pakistan. The messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out.
Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner highlighted the significance of 23rd March. He paid rich tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan and their vision for an independent, democratic, modern Muslim state.
Calling the Pakistani Diaspora the greatest national asset, the High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri appreciated their achievements and the goodwill they have generated for Pakistan. He also acknowledged the contributions made by overseas Pakistanis in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
The High Commissioner Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri also highlighted various initiatives taken by the High Commission in line with the Government’s policy of facilitating and empowering the Pakistani Diaspora.
The Flag hoisting ceremony was attended by a large number of Pakistani community members in Australia.
Pakistan Day is being celebrated across Australia. Commemorative events are being organized by the Pakistan-Australian community in all major cities of Australia.
