"Friend of Pakistan" The Honourable Amanda Fazio MLC, Opposition Whip of New South Wales Upper House send this Announcement for the readers of Sada-e-Watan. Hon. Amanda Fazio saying that this is a very worthwhile project and I am happy to support. She hope Australian Pakistani Community can come along and assist this unique welfare noble plan of Education and Peace.
It is with great
pleasure that we invite you to the Australian launch of the Peshawar School for
Peace project, an initiative jointly led by Pakistani and Australian youth.
Our Guest of
Honour is Senator
the Hon Lisa Singh. Senator Singh was made Hobart Citizen of the
Year in 2004 for her work in the peace movement surrounding the Iraq war,
especially in highlighting the plight of women and children in war, and she
serves as an Australian Patron of the School.
Pakistan currently ranks 146th on the United Nations’ Human Development Index
and the total literacy rate is just 57%. In the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region, only
35% of girls are literate.
We aim to foster a new, positive future of peace through quality education, with
a particular focus on interfaith harmony and girls' empowerment. In addition, we
hope to establish a long-lasting link of friendship between the people of our
two wonderful countries.
With your support, classes are scheduled to commence in early 2015.
We are also proud to have the Malala Fund’s endorsement, which said: ‘We wish
you every success in your noble mission, and equally support your goals of peace
and education.’
We would humbly like to offer you the opportunity to be part of this movement
for peace. Please feel free to forward this invitation to your friends and
networks. All proceeds raised at the dinner will go directly towards the School
project.
Together, let’s give children living in one of the most dangerous parts of the
world the chance to go to school and have a decent start in life.

A very big thank you to senior Australian Parliamentarian Michelle Rowland MP for her very kind statement of support. The connection between our citizens continues to grow. We are so excited for 2015 when, led by the Peshawar Youth Organization, Peshawar will become the birthplace of a movement for peace, uniting all people in harmony towards a common humanity!
