Meri Pehchan Pakistan Inc. celebrated its 9th annual event in Sydney

On Saturday, August 11, 2024, Meri Pehchan Pakistan Inc. celebrated its 9th annual event in Sydney, marking Pakistan's 77th Independence Day. The event was graced by distinguished guests including High Commissioner Zahid Hafiz Chaudhri, Australian Senator David Shoebridge, MP Nathan Hagarty, Mayor of Liverpool Ned Mannoun, and Deputy Consul General Saima Jamil. Senator Mehreen Faruqi, unable to attend in person, shared her heartfelt message through a video address.

The event showcased key highlights such as the Quiz Competition, Speech Competition, and Character Parade, where children enthusiastically demonstrated their knowledge of Pakistan’s rich history and cultural icons.

A special moment was the 4th Pakistani Youth Talent Awards, honouring exceptional achievements of Pakistani youth in 11 diverse categories, including Academics, Sports, Leadership, and Performing Arts. The outstanding efforts of the Co-Founders of the Pakistani Youth Talent Awards, Ms. Daniya Syed and Ms. Haniya Syed, were particularly acknowledged for their dedication.

This year, the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Foundation, Australia, was chosen as the event's charity beneficiary. Funds raised will contribute to the construction of a new hospital in Karachi.

The evening concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Moin Akhtar and Anwar Maqsood, featuring a reenactment of their iconic show "Studio 2½," bringing back cherished memories for the audience.

Meri Pehchan Pakistan Inc. extends its deepest gratitude to all attendees and supporters for making this event a resounding success.
