Head of the SBS Radio Urdu Service Mr. Rehan Alavi hosted a dinner in the honour of the Pakistani author & actor Mustansar Tarar and renowned painter Mr. Anjum Ayaz
Since one year Mr. Javed Nazar President Koocha-e-Saqafat Australia is arranging a Religious, Cultural and Literacy functions in Sydney. Now he is organising a Unique Legend Show “Baatain Fun Ki- Yaadain Maan Ki” at Strathfield Town Hall, Sydney on Saturday, 5th April 2014. On his special invitation Mustansar Hussain Tarar and Anjum Ayaz has arrived in Sydney.
Mr.Mustansar Hussain Tarar is a Pakistani author, actor, former radio show host, compere and enthusiast. Having made a name for him by taking the mantle in Pakistan's mountaineering community, Mustansar Hussain is widely recognized as one of the most famous and well known personalities in both Pakistan and the rest of the world. Though the origin of his fame and decadence is usually considered to be his established and decorated career and as a writer, Tarar can also be recognized as the foremost endorser for tourism projects in Northern areas of Pakistan, having exorbitantly increased the array of tourist exposure to the areas in question by becoming both a mountaineer and an adventure author who uses these locations as backdrops for his storylines.
World renowned painter and artist Anjum Ayaz famous for his art, calligraphy and sculpture work. He is an internationally renowned Pakistani artist and sculptor and an Islamic calligrapher. Mr Anjum Ayaz graduated with a degree in fine arts in 1970 and his life is captured in the extensive work he has exhibited worldwide. Mr. Anjum Ayaz has already come 3 times to visit of Australia and in 2012, his exhibition of Islamic calligraphy was opened in Lakemba by the Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Azam Mohammed and Hon. Shaoquett Moselmane MP.
Mr. Anjum Ayaz's work has also been exhibited in Montreal, Paris, Marseille, Tokyo, Dubai, New York, Beijing, The Hague and regularly in Pakistan for the past 30 years. Mr. Anjum Ayaz has produced public sculptures in important cities of the world like Tokyo, Beijing and Montreal. in Tokyo, Mr Ayaz's stone sculpture entitled "Smile" is placed by the roadside near Azabu Market, his art piece entitled "Indus Bull" was exhibited in the Athens Olympics and in Beijing his work "Life", an 18-foot high stone piece, was placed in the Sculpture Garden for the 2008 International Olympics. Mr. Anjum Ayaz is also an actor, beginning his acting career when he joined the Young Player Theatre Group, an active amateur group in Lahore. Mr. Anjum Ayaz began acting in the new medium of television in Pakistan and later joined Ali Ahmed, who is a highly committed playwright and director of the group Natak, with whom he produced many plays including Qissa sotey jagtey ka and Bara Sahib. When Anjum Ayaz came to Karachi in the seventies he formed a theatre group called Creative Workshop where he adopted and directed leading plays of the world and also adapted Saadat Hassan Manto's short stories Badshahat ka Khatima, Kali Shalwar, Spgamdi and Safar ki Taraf, and Mr. Anjum Ayaz is currently a member of the National Academy of Performing Arts [NAPA].

On Friday, 4th April 2014, Head of the SBS Radio Urdu Service Mr. Rehan Alavi hosted a dinner in the honour of the Mr. Mustansar Hussain Tarar and Mr. Anjum Ayaz. The dinner was held on short notice at Mr. Rehan Alavi residence Greenacre Sydney and attended by few close friends.
