AUSPAK Women Association – APWA – Chand Raat /Eid Festival at Granville Sydney

“APWA Chand Raat” event was packed with families coming out from many communities to enjoy the festivities. They feeling was as we are actually in Pakistan and to ensure we bring the best to the community, APWA poured their heart and soul into it. AUSPAK Women Association – APWA – Chand Raat /Eid Festival was held at Granville Sydney on Thursday, 20th April 2023. A large number of people attended the event and congratulates President Shafaq Jaffery & sincere team of ladies for arranging this wonderful fantastic Free event for public.

From Eid Shopping with numerous Pakistani clothing, jewellery, and Henna stalls, to delicious Iftar and dinner options from Chaska 2 bites Iftar dinner box, biryani and Kashmiri tea to Himalayas tantalising tandoori specials of seekh kebab, tandoori chicken & Naan. Jumping castle and multiple games for kids, the outdoors area was a carnival with fairy floss, churro & popcorn and icy Kulfi, yummy! Oasis served free tea and cake to the attendees as a token of love and add more flavour to eid preparations. The magic show was a big hit for the kids.

To top off it off, the entertainment began with our dignities, including CG Muhammed Ashraf, Councillor Cumberland Steve Christou, Hon Linda Voltz MP, Marjorie O’Neil, Karishma Kalender, Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake, Dianne Coleman, Councillor Cumberland, Councillor Sabeen Farooqi, Community leader Durga Owen, Mr. Hasan Khatri from Dept of Home Affairs, Trustee Mr. Shahid Iqbal, whom all spoke and congratulated APWA in bringing community together in celebrating the rich diversity and identity of Pakistanis during the holy month of Ramadan. Amazing prizes were distributed in the Lucky draw raffle, thanks to our wonderful sponsors. Entertainment continued with Qawwali performance and concluded with foot tapping beats and songs sung by a wonderful couple singers. Attendees remarked on what a well organised event it was, bringing smiles and joy to adults and children alike, with APWA as always bringing people together.
