A joint delegation of PAC/ANZAPP headed by Dr M Shahbaz Chaudhry meets High Commissioner Margaret Adamson
A joint delegation of PAC/ANZAPP headed
by Dr M Shahbaz Chaudhry met with Her Excellency Margaret Adamson, High
Commissioner for Australia in Pakistan. Several issues concerning Pakistani
Community in Australia, including measures to strengthen the bilateral trade
relationships and community integration between Australia and Pakistani
communities were discussed. Delegates attended the meeting include Dr Shahbaz
Chaudhry, Dr Ishtiaq Rashid, Dr Raza Shabbir, Dr Yousuf Ahmad and Dr Majid
Naeem.
Visa process, trade relations, scholarships and higher education
opportunities were among the main features of the meeting. The High
commissioner highlighted the quality standards and KPIs maintained by the high
commission staff with regards to visa process. She reassured the delegates her
personal attention with regards to these issues. The high commissioner
acknowledged and commended the role played by the Pakistani Community in
Australia.
High commissioner was briefed regarding Australia and New
Zealand Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent and association's main
objectives include charity work, Education, quality assurance for medical
professionals, and facilitating integration of Pakistani Professionals in
Australian health system and community at large. ANZAPP has membership across
all states and territories in Australia and New Zealand.
High
commissioner appreciated the objectives of the organisation and discussed
various ways in which these objectives can be supported. Developing and
strengthening ties between higher education institutions between two countries,
collaboration in research and quality in education were some of the areas
identified for further cooperation. Delegates and The High Commissioner agreed
on ongoing continued communication between High commission and
organizations.
