Premier Gladys Berejiklian hosted Iftar Dinner at NSW Parliament House

On Thursday 1st June 2017, The Premier of New South Wales Hon. Gladys Berejiklian has hosted an Iftar dinner for those in the NSW Muslim community observing the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The event was held at the Parliament House Sydney.

Gladys Berejiklian and the Minister for Multiculturalism Hon Ray Williams briefly talk about Government future Plans, Budget Grants, Multicultural activities, Improving steps of housing affordability for first homebuyers and other NSW Important political issues.The President of the New South Wales Legislative Council Hon. John George Ajaka & Chairperson Multicultural NSW Dr G.K (Harry) Harinath OAM,was also present during the Media briefing.

Ray Williams MP, Minister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Disability Services ,The Hon. David Andrew Elliott MP, Minister for Counter Terrorism, Minister for Corrections, and Minister for Veterans Affairs, NSW Police Commissioner Michael Fuller, Members of Parliament, Muslim Imams and community leaders, as well as religious leaders from other faiths.

“It is an honour to host an Iftar dinner – the breaking of the fast – with members of the NSW community who are observing Ramadan Host Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
“Ramadan holds special significance in the life of Muslim Australians. It is a time of spiritual reflection and asks members of the Islamic faith to fast between sunrise and sunset.
“The focus and reflective nature of Ramadan supports our way of life, and is a timely reminder of the values we all share, including kindness, honesty, family and charity.
“These are values that contribute to the strength of our Multifaith and Multicultural State, which the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government supports.
“I’d like to wish everyone observing the holy month, Ramadan Mubarak,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said. The Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that she is belong from Ethnic background and it is a Great fact that in Australia we all respect everyone religious, faith and culture.

The Hon. Ray Williams MP, Minister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Disability Services said that this special event reflected the efforts of the NSW Muslim community to promote interfaith harmony and understanding. Minister Ray Williams said that New South Wales is a really Multicultural state where we all united and promotes Australian Values. Minister Ray Williams said that many political, religious and community leaders from different faiths and backgrounds eating together in the dinning hall of the NSW Parliament house. Minister Ray Williams said that Government appreciates efforts of Muslim Community for development of Australia.
