Former Consul General of Pakistan Syed Tariq Bokhari passed away in Lahore
From New Zealand Mohammad Tauqir Khan informed Sada-Watan that Former Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney Syed Tariq Ali Bokhari has passed away in Lahore due to heart attack. Ina Lillah e wa Ina Alehe Rajeoon.
During the Zia ul Haq Marshall Law Mr Tariq Bokhari was posted in Australia from 1982-1985. Later he was appointed Collector of Pakistan Customs Islamabad and after completing service, he retired in 2007. Syed Tariq Bokhari was a "Man of Principal". He was never scared from higher Authorities and worked as per constitution of Pakistan and Service rules. He refused to appear against Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in Judicial commission and General Musharraf was not happy with him.
Syed Tariq Ali Bokhari was belonging from Sir Maratib Ali family and close relative of Syed Babar Ali of Packages Industries Lahore Pakistan. Since 60 years, on the night of 10th Muharram, every year Syed Tariq Ali Bokhari’s family arranged historical Main Muharram Ziarat e Zuljanah from - Nisar Haveli Mochi Gate Lahore.
Syed Tariq Ali Bokhari was popular in local citizens & Australian Pakistani Community. His doors were always open for every person. He was different Pakistani bureaucrat who helped a lot of Pakistani Students and Business personalities. With limited resources, Mr Tariq Bokhari also promoted Pak Australia Friendship and increased trade ties between the two countries.
Syed Tariq Ali Bokhari was a humble person and efficient officer of the Government of Pakistan. Due to Merit, Seniority, Honesty and Great clean service record, he was promoted to BS-22. He retired as a Federal Secretary Establishment Division. Please remember Marhum in your prayers that Allah may grant him Jannah and Saber-e-Jamil to his family. Please recite Sura-e-Fateha for the departed soul. The Editorial Board of Sada-e-Watan Sydney expressed their profound grief on the sad demise of renowned personality Syed Tariq Ali Bokhari.
