Urdu International Mushaira with Musaddaq Lakhani
Musaddaq Lakhani, the visiting poet from Pakistan, was the special guest at the 2nd Monthly ‘Nishist’ organized by the newly formed Urdu International Australia on Sunday 1st June at Spice of Life Restaurant in Harris Park Sydney. The poetic evening was attended by the leading Sydney poets who presented their latest work to a poetry loving audience. Mr Lakhani, who also chaired the ‘Nishist’, enthralled the audience with his recitation and the diction and freshness of his Ghazals.
Those who also presented their poetry included: Om Krishan Rahat, Dr Shabbir Haider, Sadiq Arif, Ashraf Shad, Rekha Rajwanshi, Yasmeen Shad, Huma Mirza, Farhat Iqbal, Kaneez Fatima, Mohammed Ali Bukhari, Zafar Islam, Javed Nazar, Yasmeen Nikhat Zaidi and Farogh Zaidi.
Mushaira Bayad-e-Jalib
Earlier, Ashraf Shad, the Founder and Coordinator of Urdu International Australia, briefed the 50-strong gathering about the activities and the future events of UIA. According to him a function will be organized on Saturday 20 September at the Sydney Bahai Centre, Silverwater that will also include an international Mushaira.
Mr. Mujahid Barelvi Syed Wasi Shah
Noted poet Wasi Shah and Jalib scholar Mujahid Barelvi will be the international guests from Pakistan.
Eid Milan Party
Women wing of Urdu International will organize Eid Milan Lunch on Sunday 10 August at the Spice of Life Restaurant. The seats at the Party are limited and the Women Committee of the UIA requested to book earlier by contacting any of the following members of the Committee:
